WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Eyelash extensions are synthetic hairs that are used to enhance the natural lash line by adding length, volume, curl, and fullness.
Eyelash extensions are made to mimic that of a natural lash, thicker at the base and tapered at the tip. There are a variety of different thicknesses, lengths, curvatures and colors of eyelash extensions to pick from! The artistry behind a lash set is endless.
WILL LASH EXTENSIONS RUIN MY NATURAL LASHES?
If applied correctly No!
Damage can occur when lash extensions are not safely applied . For example if the lash extensions are....
not adhered individually (stuck together)
adhered to the skin
too long
too thick/heavy
too much adhesive
If your lash artist has been properly trained/certified and has high lash standards your natural lashes will never get ruined. With proper application long term wear (even for years) can be safely done. Soooo please research research research for a reputable lash artist, your lash follicles will thank you.
HOW LONG DO LASH EXTENSIONS LAST?
Lash extensions will last as long as you want them too. With proper care and fills your set of lash extensions will last about 3 weeks or so. Please refer to following question.
WHY ARE LASH FILLS NEEDED?
Lash fills are needed because our natural lashes grow and shed naturally. Also because we might loose a few extensions due to wear.
Lash extensions are applied individually to each natural lash so when the natural lash grows the extension grows with it. Once that grow out occurs the extensions start to look wonky/longer and this will make the set of lashes look choppy.
Depending on your natural growth fills will be needed every 2-4 weeks. When you come in for your fills you should have at least 50% of your extensions remaining.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN ALLERGIC REACTION?
Although rare this can happen. If you worry about a possible reaction due to preexisting conditions please contact me as there is a possible treatment available for you. A "patch test" can be done but we can not guarantee that the result will be accurate due to several factors. Please call if you would like more information.
CAN YOU GET LASH LICE WITH LASH EXTENSIONS?
No you can not get lash lice with the process of application or the wearing of lash extensions. We strongly recommend daily washing with the proper tools in order to minimize any build up across the lash line. This will prevent any oil/debris from causing any irritation and premature lash extension loss.
WHY ARE LASH EXTENSIONS SO EXPENSIVE?
A highly certified lash artist spends thousands of dollars in continuous education developing an eye for the skills and techniques needed in the artistry of lash extensions.
We are all beautiful in our own way and in order to enhance that beauty we need time to design the lash set. We pick the curvatures, thickness and lengths and seamlessly apply them ONE by ONE this by itself takes the most time.
